The Sanluca armchair, presented in 1960 at the XII Triennale in Milan, is one of the great icons of Italian design. Designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, it caused quite a stir when it appeared with its unusual, almost futuristic, aerodynamic forms. It is actually an armchair that perfectly combines form and function, the first example of ergonomics applied to design. To mark 100 years since the birth of Achille and 50 years since the death of Pier Giacomo, Poltrona Frau presents a numbered, limited edition of this furnishing accessory: the Sanluca Limited Edition armchair.
The rigid wooden structure is made of separate components that are then assembled. The upholstery is made of a special jacquard fabric based on an unpublished design by Max Huber from 1968 called "Geophysical Waves". Available in two colours: white background with black stripes and black background with white stripes. The feet are made of wenge-stained solid ash wood.
The perfectly balanced dimensions, designed down to the smallest detail, make the Sanluca Limited Edition armchair by Poltrona Frau perfectly adaptable in any room without being excessive but catching the eye thanks to its design. An armchair that sums up the golden age of Italian design.
