Also known as 'The Airport Chair' or 'The Kastrup Chair', the CH401 lounge chair by Carl Hansen & Son is a minimalist upholstered armchair in warm colours.
Designed in 1958 by Hans J. Wegner and used until the 1980s in the lounges of many international airports - hence the name "Kastrup Chair" - Carl Hansen & Son's CH401 lounge chair quickly became established in private homes as not only comfortable but also capable of illuminating its surroundings.
The CH401 lounge chair by Carl Hansen & Son has a beech wood frame, while the legs and side parts with a boomerang shape are made of stainless steel. Available with either fabric or leather upholstery, this seat is handmade by experienced craftsmen and is therefore distinguished by a meticulous attention to detail that increases its intrinsic value.
