The Juliet armchair is the symbol of Poltrona Frau's centenary, winner of the design contest launched by the company on the occasion of its first hundred years among twelve talented designers from all over the world. With this armchair, Benjamin Hubert reinvents the classic capitonné in a soft, free contemporary version, enriched by an original interior pleat stitching reminiscent of the embroidery and gathers of women's bodices and sleeves, creating a multifaceted pattern that moves the surfaces.
Poltrona Frau's Juliet armchair is based on a traditional wooden frame which, narrower in the base, widens out in a puffy fashion in the seat. The rich upholstery gives a feeling of relaxation and abandon, given by the free play of folds and seams. The frame is made of solid beech with a birch plywood base. The springing of the seat is achieved through the use of elastic straps. The seat and backrest are padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The upholstery of the armchair is in elegant Pelle Frau leather, enhanced by an innovative design of pinch stitching on the inside of the seat and backrest.
