I was born and grew up in the furniture sector thanks to my family, with whom we shared all the stages the company went through.

I vividly remember loading and unloading furniture onto an uncovered little truck with my father and my bigger brother (the third brother would have joined the company later). This was the start of the adventure we now name Mondini Essere Casa.

I began by assembling furniture, then I moved to accounting, marketing, sales, anywhere I could be of help, because these are the needs of a family business. I was always under the watchful eye of my parents and I worked alongside my brothers. Our roles slowly became more defined, and for most of the years I have been taking care of the marketing and have been working as a salesperson/designer, which are the two roles that allow me to give free rein to my creativity.

I like to think that from any idea there can grow another one that is custom-made for that very moment and that very location. I like to think that there are no trends, but interpretations instead. I like the fusion of elements that can adapt to any needs. I don’t like predictable things, I like the simplicity residing in pure things, I like research.

“There is no sofa without an ottoman, there is no chair without armrests” these are the type of sentences I tell my clients, because there is no element without that thing that makes it comfortable or useful. Design must be at our service to improve our everyday life. Beauty, alongside its subjectivity and its imperfections, is what should surround us.

I owe a special thanks to my parents, my brothers, and all those collaborators (the first of whom being Roberta) that have made it possible, during the years, to move forward together despite all the problems we have faced.
