Chair or armchair, armchair or chair? Why not look for a middle ground instead? Igloo by Calligaris was created specifically to meet the need to find a solution for those seeking maximum comfort while at the table. Edi & Paolo Ciani is the design studio that created the Igloo chair by Calligaris, suitable for every dimension of conviviality. The seat is made of non-deformable polyurethane, a special material that guarantees comfort but also resistance and stability over time. The rounded shapes are sinuous and elegant, the seat curves slightly near the armrests, and rises further in the backrest. Its shape and name are vaguely reminiscent of an upside-down Igloo, rounded, comfortable, yet sturdy. There are various bases that complete the proposal of this chair: from the 4 wooden legs in the fixed version, to the swivel version (in wood or metal) with 180 degrees, with a mechanism that returns to its original position. As of 2017, a soft igloo version is also available, with a different specially made fabric, which features a stitched pattern, reminiscent of the armchairs of yesteryear.
