The Air bookshelf by the Italian company Lago was designed in 2006 by Daniele Lago. The composition reflects the company's philosophy based on innovative furniture with strictly glass legs.
The idea of bookcase as we know it is reversed by shifting the weight to storage elements like compartments or shelves rather than placing it on load-bearing elements (usually the heaviest and thickest ones), which, in this case, are made of glass. The Air bookshelf is thoroughly finished, allowing you to place it against the wall or at the center of the room as a space divider. Just like any project by Lago, Air makes compositional freedom possible, allowing the users to define and design their own piece.
