Designed in 1950 by Børge Mogensen, Carl Hansen & Son's BM1106 Huntsman Chair made its debut at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Furniture Guild Exhibition as part of Mogensen's 'hunting cabin theme'.
The chair combines two design elements: simplicity and complexity, creating an elegant seat full of details that enhance natural materials. The solid walnut or oak frame, available in various finishes, features slender legs, slightly curved crossbars and armrests. The luxurious leather of the seat and backrest is held in tension by steel or brass buckles and brackets, recalling the aesthetics of ancient explorers. The wide seat provides comfort and allows for different sitting positions.
This chair is suitable both as a dining chair and as a lounge chair, enriching the surroundings with refined details. Combined with the dining table from the same collection, the BM1106 Huntsman Chair by Carl Hansen & Son creates a modern dining area with a touch of classic furniture with timeless charm. In the living room, it stands out as a functional and elegant piece, perfect for relaxing, reading or moments of conviviality.
The BM1106 Huntsman Chair by Carl Hansen & Son has helped define Mogensen's style and, thanks to its fine materials and craftsmanship, its versatile character will last for generations.
