Presented at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1929, Cassina's 6 Table Tube d'Avion, Outdoor was born from a revolutionary idea: to clearly distinguish the supporting element from the tabletop, emphasising the autonomy between structure and surface. Designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, this table continues to surprise with its bold and contemporary design, even in outdoor spaces.
The visual separation between the base and the top is emphasised by four intermediate supports, which act as spacers and level adjusters, creating a balance between the solidity of the base and the lightness of the top. The base, designed in 1928, is inspired by the ovoid profiles used in aeronautics to separate the wings of biplanes, giving the table a technical and sophisticated character.
In the outdoor version, the structure is made of stainless steel painted with powder coatings specifically designed for outdoor use in five embossed colours, while the rectangular top is in white Carrara marble. Each material is selected to offer a high-level aesthetic and tactile experience.
Perfect for outdoor dining areas, the Cassina 6 Table Tube d'Avion, Outdoor stands out as the centrepiece of the space, combining functionality and style. The different finishes and colours allow it to be adapted to a variety of contexts, making each environment unique and sophisticated.
