The 7 Fauteuil Tournant, Outdoor chair by Cassina is an icon of versatility and functionality, designed in 1927 by Charlotte Perriand for her Parisian studio in Place Saint-Sulpice. First presented at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1928 and then at the Salon d'Automne in 1929, today it is part of the prestigious Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret®, Charlotte Perriand® collection.
Its swivel design stands out for its round seat, wrapped in a padded tube that acts as a backrest and armrests. Three metal elements support this structure, creating a refined balance between visual lightness and comfort, thanks to the contrast between the slender metal lines and the soft padded surfaces. Completing the composition are four legs in painted stainless steel, with powder coatings specifically designed for outdoor use in five embossed colours.
While maintaining the original design intact, the Outdoor version introduces a special polyester yarn fabric covering that reproduces the aesthetics of the indoor models, characterised by a tone-on-tone edged profile.
Perfect around an outdoor dining table, the Cassina 7 Fauteuil Tournant, Outdoor chair embodies the attention to historical design and contemporary comfort that now also enhances outdoor spaces. An object that discreetly and characteristically recounts the evolution of taste and technique.
