Designed by Gianfranco Frattini, Cassina's 780/783 series of round side tables is an icon of Italian design from the 1960s, a period marked by optimism and experimentation, with a strong focus on functionality. Essential in form and versatile in use, these side tables enrich the living room as small decorative and practical islands, capable of blending aesthetics and utility.
The collection includes four low tables, with diameters ranging from 42 to 61 cm and decreasing heights, designed to be stacked in a compact, sculptural composition reminiscent of a drum. The structure is made of walnut-stained or black lacquered beech, while the natural plastic laminate top features a monochrome, reversible design. Lifting it reveals the lower part, lacquered in white or black, offering a surprising and refined chromatic detail.
Appreciated today as they were then for their flexibility, the Cassina 780/783 side tables adapt easily to the needs of the space, rotating freely within the living room. Placed next to sofas and armchairs, or combined with each other, they add a warm, handcrafted touch to the environment, confirming their timeless nature and ability to elegantly interpret any style of furniture.
