Cassina's Capitol Complex Table was originally designed for the Legislative Assembly building in Chandigarh, a tribute to the genius of Pierre Jeanneret. Today, thanks to the mastery of Cassina's carpentry workshop in Meda, this large conference table has been reissued with a level of craftsmanship that enhances its elegance and historical value.
Like many pieces of furniture designed for the Capitol Complex, the Capitol Complex Table also features the iconic 'V' legs, reinterpreted here as two sculptural elements in solid wood, with a 'cornes entrecroisées' shape. These supports, joined by three crossbars, lift the top with a structural lightness that combines rigour and poetry.
In addition to the original teak version, Cassina's new edition offers two variants in natural oak and black-stained oak, with the option of a glass top available in different sizes. Each finish is designed to suit different styles and atmospheres: the solid wood conveys warmth and craftsmanship, while the contrast between glass and wood highlights the architectural beauty of the base.
With its iconic solemnity, the Cassina Capitol Complex Table becomes the centrepiece of the dining area, blending the charm of classic design with contemporary aesthetics. Combined with chairs from the same collection, it creates a sophisticated and welcoming environment, where history and modernity meet in perfect balance.
