The armchair and three poufs from Cassina's Somewhere El-S collection, designed by Philippe Starck, evoke multiple associations: sometimes a bag, sometimes a suitcase, sometimes a gift wrapped in wrapping paper. A tribute to high fashion, translated into the language of design through sartorial craftsmanship and refined details.
The collection includes three poufs—two square and one rectangular, the latter of which can also be used as a daybed with or without a backrest—and an armchair available in different versions. A distinctive feature is the handcrafted closure inspired by saddlery, enriched with metal inserts: on the armchair it is located at the front, while on the poufs it decorates two sides. The armchair also stands out for its metal backrest woven with natural leather cord, contrasting with the soft padding, creating a piece of furniture with a colonial flavour and a contemporary explorer feel.
The upholstery is available in two material variants: a textured leather in three shades, or a monochromatic fabric—natural or black—with the option of an ethnic pattern designed specifically by Starck. Cassina Somewhere El-S by fits elegantly into living rooms and spaces that celebrate the past but with an eye to the future: the entire collection can be completely disassembled to facilitate the recovery of materials at the end of its life cycle.
