A refined balance between shapes and weights, distilled into an essential aesthetic, gives life to Cassina's TL59 table. Designed in 1975 by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, this iconic project is now being re-proposed in two versions updated in terms of dimensions and finishes, while maintaining its ability to surprise and welcome through harmonious volumes and unexpected details.
The historic version with a round top is now joined by a rectangular variant, available in two configurations. The round model features a powder-coated Nero embossed base and a tempered glass top, which enhances its visual lightness. The rectangular version, with a more sculptural character, is supported by two separate bases. The legs consist of a base and an upper support, both round, joined by a V-shaped folded pedestal that gives dynamism and expressive strength to the entire structure.
For those who prefer a more textured and precious version, Cassina offers a wooden top covered with a layer of plaster, hand-modelled with a spatula to create parallel lines that cross the entire surface. Once solidified, the top is finished with metal powder—bronze, brass or titanium—which also covers the bases, evoking the handcrafted plasterwork designed by Scarpa for his private residences.
