The Cattelan Italia Dodo side table is made of blown glass, produced with the ancient Balloton technique typical of the craft tradition of Murano glass masters. Dodo decorates the room with its three-dimensional pattern and the optical effect created by the light and shadow of the glass.
The structure of the side table is obtained from a metal mould with spikes that mould the molten glass, giving it a three-dimensional pattern of criss-crossed diamond shapes. The resulting faceted effect is accentuated by the violet shading of the smoked crystal, in which the light reverberates between the regular ripples and gives a soft and delicate effect. Dodo features a base with three sharply shaped supports that contrast with the roundness of the designer side table.
