Designed at the end of 1953, the Du 30 chair by Poltrona Frau is certainly the most famous piece designed by Gastone Rinaldi. In 1954, it was awarded the Compasso d'Oro prize, then Compasso d'Oro-Rinascente, in its first edition. This chair was immediately patented and appeared on the cover of the first issue of Stile Industria magazine in June 1954. The unitary shape of the seat and back gives rise to a central cut-stitching that cannot fail to remind us of the contemporary works of Lucio Fontana.
The Du 30 chair by Poltrona Frau is a shaped monocoque in steel mesh with moulded polyurethane foam padding. The pair of legs, made of bent and welded tubular iron painted black, is attached by screws to the body, which has a lower rib. The padding is in moulded polyurethane foam, while the upholstery is in fine Pelle Frau leather, characterised by a central seam that starts at the bottom of the backrest, where soft folds form, and continues along the entire seat.
The size and modern design of the Du 30 chair by Poltrona Frau allow you to combine it with tables or other accessories in your living room, turning it into a real work of art!
