Aplomb stands out for the splendid material it is clad in: raw concrete, exuding an incredible blend of modernity and a slightly rugged charm. Foscarini’s lamp of the same name has an oblique shape that stands out from the wall whilst appearing to be an integral part of it: a heartfelt and cohesive interplay that creates light which seems to emanate from the material itself. The weight and imposing nature of the concrete allow light to emerge only from the upper opening, creating a fairly substantial beam, whilst the lower opening is slimmer and more delicate, where the light appears less intense. ‘Aplomb’ by the Italian company Foscarini is available in brown, white and grey, showcasing the beauty of this textured concrete-effect finish.
