The Cassina Mexique table is part of a series of free-form tables developed between 1938 and 1939, the final design of which was created in 1952 to furnish the student rooms of the Maison du Mexique at the Cité Universitaire Internationale in Paris. Its organic shape, designed to optimise space, allows several elements to be placed side by side to create larger, more regular compositions.
The thick wooden top stands out for its triangular silhouette with soft, welcoming rounded corners, in refined contrast to the three triangular legs in folded sheet metal. The base, available in gunmetal grey or matt black finishes, creates an interesting interplay of materials with the top: the latter can be made of solid Canaletto walnut wood, for those seeking warmth and authenticity, or in matt or glossy lacquered wood, for a more modern and bold aesthetic.
Mexique adapts with natural elegance to both residential and contract environments. In the dining room, it offers a welcoming and versatile space, while in lounges, bars and restaurants, it adds a touch of contemporary and distinctive style. Combined with stools from the same collection, the Cassina Mexique table enhances any environment with its refined functionality and timeless design.
