The Cassina Soft Corners pouf is a play on soft, modular volumes, designed to adapt elegantly and functionally to any interior design context. It is the first project by Dutch designer Freya Tangelder for Cassina: a dynamic composition that combines sculptural aesthetics and a playful spirit.
The collection includes three types of poufs — rectangular, low rectangular and square L-shaped — designed to be freely assembled and integrated into any domestic environment. Each element appears to be composed of several padded volumes, whose upholstery defines their profiles and enhances their softness.
At the heart of each module is a black-painted plywood structure, to which soft rubber padding is applied and secured in such a way as to allow the components to be disassembled. This approach, in line with Cassina LAB's sustainable philosophy, allows for repair and replacement over time. The cushions are made of bio-based polyurethane, confirming the commitment to innovative and responsible materials.
From the living area to the bedroom, to contract spaces such as hotels and boutiques, Cassina's Soft Corners can be transformed into a seat, footrest or versatile accessory. A modular system that combines multiple functions in an essential geometry, capable of conveying freshness and movement. In contrast to the padded shapes, the collection is completed by a stainless steel coffee table with an industrial character, for a bold and contemporary touch.
