The Cassina TL3 table embodies an innovative concept of dismantlability, conceived by Franco Albini through the use of struts—a recurring structural element in his design poetics and already a key feature in the iconic Veliero and Infinito bookcases. In this creation, the legs take on the function of uprights, appearing as turned solid wood blocks along the entire surface, with the exception of the square section that houses the horizontal crossbar.Â
A wooden cone, placed on top of each parallelepiped, creates a refined visual separation between the crossbars and the top, which appears to be suspended in mid-air thanks to its formal lightness. The thin glass top, available in rectangular or round versions, offers a glimpse of the details of fine cabinetmaking, enhancing the craftsmanship of the design. The connection between the vertical uprights and the horizontal shaped crossbars is defined by visible screws, which emphasise the principle of disassembly at the base of the entire structure.
Essential and light, Cassina's TL3 is a sophisticated dining table that surprises with its masterful woodworking and harmonious dialogue between materials. The round version encourages conviviality and conversation, while the rectangular version also lends itself as a large desk, its elegant lines enhancing the luxurious and distinctive character of the space.
