Designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, the Dudet armchair was created as a contemporary refuge to enrich the dining area. A small piece of upholstered architecture, Dudet is defined by three distinctive elements: a generous seat cushion and two sinuous tubular elements that, in a single continuous line, outline the legs, armrests and backrest.
Its soft silhouette and harmonious curves give it a unique visual identity. The tubular structure, a truly iconic feature of the design, lightly envelops the seat, creating a suspended effect that invites comfort and conviviality.
In addition to its refined aesthetics, Dudet expresses a strong commitment to sustainability: the steel structure can be easily separated from the polyurethane foam padding, made with polyols derived from biological sources. This approach allows for the disassembly and recovery of materials, in line with a responsible design philosophy. The fabric cover is also removable, thanks to a discreet zip that elegantly runs along the inner arch of the legs.
With a clear nod to 1970s style, the Cassina Dudet armchair fits naturally into both residential and hospitality settings. At the centre of the dining area, next to the table, it takes centre stage thanks to its welcoming shape and distinctive character. In contract settings—such as hotel lobbies, restaurants and lounge bars—it elevates the atmosphere, transforming itself into an authentic design object.
