Designed by Michael Anastassiades for Cassina, the Flutz chair is a fascinating oxymoron: a balance between structural rigour and formal grace, inspired by the fluid, impeccable movements of figure skating. The contrast between the solid metal structure and the soft, welcoming seat is the distinctive feature of this design.
The base consists of two thin, parallel painted aluminium plates that rise to elegantly support the seat. The seat, covered in leather or removable fabric, rests on a shell wrapped in soft padding enclosed in a recycled PET wadding cover, offering comfort and sustainability.
Thanks to Cassina LAB's research, each component has been designed according to circularity principles: the metal structure and padding can be disassembled and recycled at the end of the product's life cycle, in line with a responsible and innovative approach.
The Cassina Flutz chair is available in three versions: two without armrests, with low or high backrests, and one with armrests that continue the line of the legs. Each model is designed to enrich the dining area with a touch of contemporary elegance. Its original and welcoming design decorates the space and invites conviviality, adapting naturally to both residential and hospitality environments.
