The beautiful Papilio Shell chair was designed in 2015 by the genius of Naoto Fukasawa exclusively for B&B Italia, following the great success of the same family of armchairs and small armchairs. It features the eccentric stylistic lines that distinguish the entire family: a minimalist and sophisticated design, an enveloping and extremely comfortable backrest, a wide and homogeneous seat.
Naoto Fukasawa is inspired by the flight of the butterfly, the name comes from the Latin translation: Papilio. The two large wraparound wings, represented by the curved backrest, seem to remind one of a lepidopteron about to take flight. The Papilio chair by B&B Italia features a polypropylene shell, lacquered and a series of support structures.
The classic legs are made of steel profiles painted white, as is the shell in the same colour as the body.
The Papilio Shell chair by B&B Italia is perfect to match a beautiful table in the dining room or kitchen, also perfect for studios, offices or contract contexts.
