Who knows what Carlo Mollino would have been able to do today, among carbon fibres or other composite materials, if, using only solid wood and good craftsmen, he had been able in the 1950s to invent sleek, dry and slender structures!
The Cavour table by Zanotta is composed of a natural or black-stained oak frame with a resistant and easily washable glass top. The drawer unit and storage compartment are also made of natural or black-stained oak with black high-gloss lacquered parts.
Articulated and complex shapes, which once understood are astonishing for the constructive intelligence of a perfect mechanism where each element fits together, matches, twins with precision to others, through punctual (and ad hoc designed) metal joining systems.
