In 1998, Jasper Morrison created the Glo-Ball table lamp, which was then produced by the Italian company Flos. In the course of time, it will be taken as inspiration by countless lighting designers.
Glo-Ball by the Italian company Flos is made using an ancient artisan technique typical of Venetian glassmakers: mouth-blowing. By blowing into a long tube at the end of which is the glassy material still at very high temperatures, a swelling is created in the tube, giving rise to a glass bubble such as Glo-Ball. Our bubble, made of flashed opal glass, is then varnished with an acid-etched finish to create its recognisable bleached opaque tone, which at the same time allows light to filter through, creating magical atmospheres. On the cable there is a dimmer which allows adjustment of the light intensity according to the desired atmosphere. Available in 'Glo-Ball Basic Zero' with dimmer for dimming, 'Glo-Ball Basic Zero Switch' with on/off switch but without dimming, and in 'Glo-Ball Basic 1' and 'Glo-Ball Basic 2' with standard ignition and different sizes.
Glo-Ball is suitable for every type of environment and situation: from the living room, to the sleeping area, to the dining area, to a sheltered outdoor area, a restaurant entrance, a concept store, a hotel and wherever there is a desire to impress. Available in five different sizes, it is also suitable for light compositions.
