The Gubi 3D bar stool by Gubi, designed by Komplot Design, is a pioneering piece: the first piece of furniture created using the innovative three-dimensional moulding technique. This process gives the shell a sense of visual lightness and surprising comfort, thanks to the outward-curving edges that enhance the feeling of openness and softness.
The extraordinarily versatile design lends itself to extensive customisation: the shell is made from HiRek, whilst the seat can be left bare in the same material, fully upholstered, or upholstered with a plastic outer shell, creating a refined contrast between rigid and soft surfaces. It is no coincidence that Gubi 3D has received numerous international awards and is now on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The collection stands out for the elegant interplay between the textured shell and the upholstery, further enhanced by the choice of base: a sled base, with a light and contemporary profile, or a four-legged base connected by slender footrests, giving the base a more graphic and architectural appearance.
Welcoming, minimalist and instantly recognisable, the Gubi 3D bar stool becomes a statement piece in kitchens, lounge bars and restaurants, adapting naturally to different counters and stylistic contexts and bringing a harmonious balance of innovation, craftsmanship and design to the space.
