Gubi’s IOI coffee tables, designed by the duo GamFratesi, celebrate Italian craftsmanship through the use of travertine, which takes centre stage here. Inspired by Art Deco geometries and reinterpreted in a contemporary style, the collection explores both the form and the empty space surrounding it, transforming it into an integral part of the design. The result is a refined balance, where the purity of the lines interacts with the material richness of the stone.
The name IOI derives from the structure of the legs: two twin metal tubes, joined by a brass sphere that visually echoes the sequence of letters, creating a detail that is both graphic and sculptural. Retaining this slender base, available in black or chrome, the new edition introduces a circular top in Beige Ondulato travertine, a material rich in natural nuances. The form has been refined with a U-shaped edge that curves seamlessly at the top and bottom, lending softness and a more organic presence to the silhouette.
Available in two heights and diameters, the Gubi IOI coffee tables lend themselves to multiple interpretations: they can be used individually as refined accents or combined in pairs or groups, creating dynamic compositions that interact with Gubi’s wide range of armchairs and sofas. In any configuration, they add a touch of architectural elegance, enhancing the space with a discreet yet unmistakable presence.
