Gubi’s Ronde suspension lamp combines an industrial aesthetic with a surprisingly warm feel, fitting naturally into both domestic interiors and professional spaces. Compact, modern and extremely versatile, it can be used on its own or in arrangements that play with proportions and colours, enhancing the space with a discreet and harmonious presence.
Inspired by traditional suspension lights and 1970s design, the Ronde reinterprets these influences in a contemporary key through a bell-shaped shade, available in two sizes. Its most iconic detail is the upper opening with a protruding collar, which evokes the silhouette of a vase or an amphora. From this “spout”, the light not only falls downwards but also diffuses upwards, creating a delicate luminous glow that caresses the cable and the ceiling. The hand-turned aluminium shade, finished with an ultra-matt lacquer, gives the surface an almost ceramic appearance, soft and textured.
The name “Ronde” evokes roundness and circular motion, but also the flat sheet used in metal turning, which rotates around a core to be shaped into a three-dimensional form: a direct reference to the craftsmanship that brings the lamp to life.
Gubi’s Ronde suspension lamps can be hung in the kitchen, placed in pairs on either side of the bed, or used in the larger version above the dining table, where they create a balanced, intimate and contemporary lighting atmosphere.
