The Atlas carpet by Kasthall takes its name from the mountains of North Africa, evoked through rich weaves and iridescent hues. Developed in close collaboration with Barber Osgerby, Atlas is a hand-woven carpet that allows the intrinsic logic of the loom to emerge as a formal guide. The double-weave technique creates a layered surface, animated by depth and tonal variations that suggest movement and a tranquil topography. In this weave, the warp threads remain visible within the weft — a rare and deliberate choice — creating a subtle interplay of light and shadow that enriches the texture and integrates colour deeply into the structure.
