The Tatou S2 collection is the brainchild of designer Patricia Urquiola, who was inspired by drawings of classic Japanese armour on the lampshade, the symbol of these Flos lamps. The family includes table, floor and pendant models. The French word "tatou" means "armadillo" an animal with a protective armour similar to those on our lamps.
The Tatou S2 suspension lamp is characterised by a circular rosette and a steel suspension cable to which a plastic lampshade decorated with a special openwork design is attached. The special processing gives lightness to the lampshade while still allowing it to shield the light and prevent glare. The inner diffuser is made of opal polycarbonate. The Tatou S1 lamp from the Italian company Flos is available in white, black or ochre grey.
