The ML10097 Egyptian Table by Danish firm Carl Hansen & Son was first presented to the public at the Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in Copenhagen in 1940. Its creator, master Moegens Lassen, stated that it was strongly inspired by folding stands found in Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922.
For master Moegens Lassen, as well as for his contemporaries, the functional part of objects was fundamental, which is why their approach to design began with a careful study of archetypes from the history of furniture. The ML10097 Egyptian Table features a cross-legged base made of solid wood and a top made of oak or walnut veneer.
The ML10097 Egyptian Table is not only aesthetically impeccable due to its handcrafting nature but also functional, in fact it can be folded and stored in just a few steps ensuring minimal action time.
