Gio Ponti's design legacy lives on thanks to the Molteni company. Now the catalogue is enriched with the D.163.7 Continuum armchair, an expression of the long-lasting alliance between the Brianza manufacturing companies, Molteni and Bonacina.
The Molteni Continuum D.163.7 armchair is the result of the skilful processing of rattan, a natural material that is elaborately curved and woven by hand. The structure draws an organic and sinuous shape, given by the continuous line that starts from the headrest to the armrest. Made in Italy from premium materials: manao and wicker from Indonesia and handcrafted by skilled artisans. The frame and backrest of the armchair are moulded from manao cane, and each piece takes over 200 hours of meticulous work. The seat made of wicker is attached to the frame by means of special bindings, also made of wicker.
The comfortable profile of Continuum D.163.7 draws inspiration from classic bergère chairs, accommodating the entire body between soft padding in an ergonomic, supported position. The upholstery available in fabric or leather matches the natural structure and any furnishing style. The armchair composes a pleasant relaxation corner in which to stretch out or devote oneself to reading a book, positioned both in the living room and in private rooms of the home.
The Molteni D.163.7 Continuum armchair continues the story of the Italian brand that combines history and contemporaneity through an elegant and timeless design.
