In collaboration with Gio Ponti Archives and the heirs of the illustrious Milanese architect, Molteni revives one of the rare pieces of outdoor furniture designed by Gio Ponti: the D.150.5 chaise longue, conceived in 1952 for the cruise ship Andrea Doria.
This chaise longue is distinguished by two unique features: the first is the continuous line of the side, which harmoniously unites the backrest, seat, armrest and footrest in a single fluid and slender line; the second is the radius of the angle between the seat and backrest, perfectly in keeping with the technical indications that Ponti noted for the Distex in 1953. Made of solid teak, the structure expresses the craftsmanship of high-quality cabinet-making, while the cushion, with a shaped polyurethane insert, guarantees exceptional comfort.
