The table is a fundamental piece of furniture in our homes, destined to become the protagonist of the environment thanks to the scenic presence it is able to give. Jane by Poltrona Frau is a piece of furniture designed by Jane Marie Massaud that manages to upset hierarchies thanks to its organic shape and free space. From a static point of view, this product rests on three large, irregular, majestic, sculpture-like supports.
The Jane table by Poltrona Frau has a top in precious Calacatta Oro marble, Emperador marble or Fior di Pesco marble (with polished or semi-polished finish). The lower surface of the top is reinforced with a technical mesh to ensure strength and stability. The load-bearing structure is made up of three columns, each consisting of three elements: a plate for fixing to the floor, a central wooden body and an end plate. The supports have a solid beech wood core enclosed in four high-density MDF panels, shaped and veneered in moka-stained or wenge-stained ash.
The massive solidity of the bases contrasts with the airy lightness of the large surface, accentuated by the rounded corners and irregular shape. The ingenious steel connection between supports and top emphasises the feeling that the top is floating in space. Poltrona Frau's Jane table, with its unconventional shape, avoids imposing positions or hierarchies. This complement also offers an interesting use as a work table, with its large surface to be organised in complete freedom.
