Rimadesio’s Self Blade sideboard reinterprets the Self range with a fresh, instantly recognisable design feature: the slim, structural aluminium side panel, which defines the composition and sets its visual rhythm. This essential design element opens up the modular system to more flexible configurations, combining freestanding units with supported sections, in a carefully balanced interplay of solid and void that makes the furniture an integral part of the architecture.
The load-bearing aluminium side panel, 8 mm thick, allows for the creation of large freestanding compositions, up to 2910 mm in length, whilst maintaining stability and a clean, minimalist form. The illuminated open shelf beneath the top introduces light as a design element, whilst the new storage module with doors — available in 560 or 1120 mm — expands the system’s compositional and functional possibilities.
The Rimadesio Self Blade sideboard can either rest fully on the floor or be raised off the floor by the two side panels that would otherwise touch it, creating an elegant and airy void. The range of finishes and different heights allow it to be adapted to various settings, transforming it into a highly attractive piece of furniture within the living room. By playing with the finishes in the catalogue, Self Blade becomes a true contemporary gem, capable of storing or displaying decorative objects without disrupting the continuity of the space.
