The Splügen Bräu pendant lamp by the Italian company Flos is the brainchild of the Castiglioni brothers in 1960 when they were commissioned to design the interior of the Splügen Bräu brewery on Corso Europa in Milan. It was the most In and awaited club of the moment. The opening was attended by wealthy people and intellectuals. The style was somewhere between Art Nouveau and a primordial industrial hint.
The Splügen Bräu lamp is characterised by a ceiling rose made of polished white ABS to which a steel cable is attached, supporting a lampshade made of turned polished and corrugated aluminium. Its unique ring structure helped the light to diffuse and its curves caught the light in a wonderful way by magically reflecting it. With a diameter of 36 cm and a height of 21 cm, to which we must add 220 cm of suspension cable, the Splügen Bräu lamp has optimal dimensions to fit into any context.
The Splügen Bräu lamp by the Italian company Flos remains to this day a cult from the 1960s that continues to fascinate and illuminate homes and contracts all over the world. An icon destined to survive time and fashion.
