Foscarini Italia's Uto lamps are the result of a collaboration between the Italian company Foscarini and a design studio set up in Barcelona in 2001, which is very active in exchanges between Spain and Italy for public and private commissions. Above all, the studio's professional activity often goes hand in hand with teaching and research in universities and academies.
Uto lamps are as fresh and young as their designers for an avant-garde audience that follows the unstoppable pace of our times. Uto has a conical shape at the end of a long suspension; it is made of thermoplastic elastomer and polycarbonate, a material that is soft to the touch and represents the emblem of an object that can be touched, moulded and redefined according to the purchaser's needs.
Uto lamps embrace an emerging dimension of design: one in which product and user come together in a unique relationship of exchange and interaction. The lamps in Foscarini's collection of the same name are suitable for single use as well as for composition.
