Every home, from the smallest to the largest, needs a relaxing space in which to spend free time, generally in the evenings and at weekends, and to receive friends, so as to share happy moments of conviviality. For optimum functionality and, logically, for a striking appearance, the most suitable furnishings must be selected. When we talk about relaxation, we certainly cannot overlook Zanotta's Shiki sofa.
Designer Damian Williamson created the Shiki sofa, in collaboration with Zanotta, inspired by the simplicity of the traditional Japanese futon, evoking the idea of an upholstered mattress on an upholstered wooden frame.
A refined quilted motif designs the large seat cushion, embellished by the sartorial detail of the hand-made and hand-applied frogs, proposed in a nuance with the upholstery fabric. The design of Zanotta's Shiki sofa is characterised by a dynamic alternation of different thicknesses and heights, outlining an urban landscape, a sort of architectural composition built with different materials, finishes and volumes, in a harmonious contrast.
