The Tatou collection is the brainchild of designer Patricia Urquiola, who was inspired by drawings of classic Japanese armour on the lampshade, the symbol of these Flos lamps. The family includes table, floor and pendant models. The French word "tatou" means "armadillo" an animal with a protective armour similar to those on our lamps.
The Tatou T1 table lamp is characterised by a circular base and a painted steel stem, on top of which rests a plastic shade with a special perforated design. The special processing gives lightness to the lampshade while still allowing it to shield the light and prevent glare. The Tatou T1 lamp by the Italian company Flos is available in white, black or ochre grey.
