Assaya, meaning 'to give a comfortable support', 'to create a pleasant feeling', but also the art of analysing, of evaluating in Marathi, Satyendra Pakhalé's mother tongue. The designer designed this armchair for the Italian brand Poltrona Frau, thinking of an increasingly connected world, in which the boundary between home and workplace is less definable.
For the Assaya armchair by Poltrona Frau, the structure of the backrest and armrests, in a single shell, is in rigid polyurethane and padded with polyurethane foam and wadding. The seat is made of seasoned beech with elastic straps. The upholstery is in Saddle Extra leather for the outside and Pelle Frau leather or fabric for the inside. The perimeter of the leather surface is enriched by precious visible stitching executed with contrasting thread.
