Designed in 1967 by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for the Young Play programme, the Cassina Carlotta armchair embodies essential elegance designed to offer comfort and style to a young and dynamic audience. Refined and welcoming, it is the ideal piece of furniture for enjoying moments of conviviality outdoors, inviting you to relax naturally.
The structure consists of four natural teak frames, joined together by a sophisticated system of joints and finger joints that highlights the mastery of Meda's carpentry. The internal edges feature a milled finish, a distinctive feature of the original design, which reflects the attention to production optimisation and craftsmanship.
The hand-woven support ropes cross the frame thanks to a twist in the wood created using numerically controlled machines, demonstrating the technical innovation introduced by Cassina. The cushions, padded with recycled PET fibre, complete the armchair, offering informal and sustainable comfort.
Together with the tables from the same collection, the Cassina Carlotta armchair creates welcoming and sophisticated outdoor spaces, perfect for enjoying sunny days in total relaxation, combining design, functionality and respect for tradition.
