Helena by Cassina is a suspension lamp with a delicate and timeless charm, designed by Charles Eames in 1934 to illuminate the interior of St. Mary's Church in the town of Helena, Arkansas. It was not until 1941 that this visionary design was first put into production by Cassina, in collaboration with the Eames Office, preserving its authenticity and original character.
The lamp stands out for its compact and poetic shape: a blown glass sphere wrapped in an aluminium hemisphere, which can be rotated to modulate the direction of the light and create the visual effect of a suspended moon. The aluminium structure, available in glossy or matt black finishes, is embellished with small laser-engraved stars, which create a harmonious play of light and shadow, accentuating its celestial appearance.
Available in two sizes, the Cassina Helena suspension lamp hangs elegantly above sofas and armchairs, creating a dreamy and relaxing atmosphere. By combining the different sizes, you can create multi-level compositions, playing with volumes and heights to achieve a highly refined, dramatic effect. In any setting, Helena stands out with its understated elegance, transforming light into a poetic gesture.
