Galaxy by Cassina is a suspension lamp with a strong visual and historical impact, created in 1949 by the genius of Charles and Ray Eames. Originally conceived by assembling brass tubes and automotive components around a wooden sphere, this visionary creation is now being reproduced for the first time by Cassina, which preserves the authenticity of the original design.
The structure consists of a central sphere housing 36 rods of different lengths, each equipped with an LED light source, evoking a night sky dotted with stars. Cassina has revamped the design with a 'plug & play' system that allows the rods to be easily inserted into the sphere, simplifying assembly and allowing for compact packaging, which is surprisingly small compared to the final dimensions of the product.
Available in two sizes and in black, matt white and polished aluminium finishes, the Cassina Galaxy suspension lamp elegantly illuminates the dining table, like a shining star in the domestic sky. Even in living rooms or public spaces, such as restaurants, hotels and lounges, it stands out as a sculptural work of great charm, combining functionality and luminous poetry in an object that celebrates creative genius and timeless beauty.
