The Seine suspension lamp by Gubi, designed by Space Copenhagen, draws inspiration from a poetic observation of how light behaves in moving water. This vibrant, iridescent effect is captured through the use of mouth-blown glass, enhanced by decorative patterns that soften, layer and diffuse the light, creating an intimate, dreamlike, almost meditative atmosphere.
The suspension can be configured with a shade in Smoke, a slightly tinted translucent glass that offers a glimpse of the internal structure, or in Coral, where the sandblasted interior creates a cloudy, velvety effect. Its distinctive feature lies in the inverted glass shade, with the opening facing upwards: an unusual design that encloses the bulb and diffuses a delicate, intimate light that expands naturally throughout the space.
The Gubi Seine suspension lamp is at its best in pairs or in arrangements that alternate colours and heights, creating refined lighting displays. In a reading nook in the living room, beside the bed or even in the kitchen, its almost floral delicacy enhances the space with an enveloping, soft and deeply contemporary light.
