Cassina's Mex-Hi sofa represents the elevated evolution of the famous Mex Cube model, retaining its modular soul and extraordinary versatility. The structure consists of five platforms of different sizes, on which independent cushions—armrests, backrests and seats—can be freely attached to create linear, corner or island compositions. The tubular steel frame with elastic straps ensures solidity and comfort, supporting padding made from 100% recycled PET fibre, mostly recovered from the oceans. This sustainable approach stems from research into innovative materials conducted by Cassina LAB, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano.
Each module contributes to a harmonious set of variations on the theme, where seats, backrests and armrests—the latter at the same height—combine to accompany everyday gestures and encourage dialogue.
