Cassina's Pa' 1947 console was born from an instinctive and visionary gesture by Ico Parisi: a few lines drawn on a sheet of paper—a horizontal line and two oblique lines—gave life to a structure with harmonious proportions and an organic aesthetic. Designed in 1947 for a private client, this creation embodies the perfect balance between artistic intuition and constructional precision. Cassina has preserved its essence, combining technology and craftsmanship with the mastery of its own carpentry workshop.
The rectangular top, made of solid Canaletto walnut or black-stained ash, features four straight cut-outs on the long sides, near the ends. These housings accommodate the metal tips of the legs, with their distinctive divergent "Y" shape, embellished with metal details on the three points. Stability and structural rigour are guaranteed by two slanted turned wood elements, fitted diagonally into the crossbar and underside, demonstrating refined artisan engineering.
Light, slender and with an organic profile, the Cassina Pa' 1947 console fits naturally and elegantly into living rooms or private studies, becoming a refined surface for lamps, books and decorative objects. Also perfect as a compact desk, this console reflects the timeless ingenuity of its designer, with a charm that continues to seduce.
