The Sengu Low Table by Cassina, designed by Patricia Urquiola, interprets furniture as layered and refined domestic architecture. Inspired by the Far East—a recurring theme in Cassina collections—and in particular by the Japanese ritual of rebuilding shrines through the alternation of materials, the Sengu Low Table celebrates the beauty of gesture, matter and memory.
A distinctive feature of the design is its sculptural base: a central cylinder in matt satin-finish marble supports a rectangular vertical support that holds the round top in an off-centre position. This geometric composition, made up of pure volumes and calibrated contrasts, conveys a feeling of stability and strength, balanced by an elegant visual lightness.
The top, available in three sizes, is made of MDF veneered in natural or black-stained oak, Canaletto walnut or lacquered, always colour-coordinated with the leg. Each finish is designed to meet different aesthetic needs, offering versatile solutions for residential and contract environments.
In the centre of the living room or next to sofas and armchairs, the Cassina Sengu Low Table stands out with discreet authority, both as a single piece and in dynamic compositions. A sculptural accessory that combines tradition and modernity, enriching the space with balance, elegance and design depth.
