The Ceccotti Collezioni Obon suspension lamp is inspired, in name and design, by the Japanese festival of the same name which takes place every year in August and which has the lantern as its symbol. The lamp refers to the traditional Chōchin lanterns, made of paper, and becomes a symbolic object to be placed over a generous dining table.
The Obon lamp has a cylindrical inner shade made of opaline glass, the two ends of which are surrounded by an American walnut or shellac ring. Burnished brass rods join the ends of the shade to the circular outer silk diffuser. Available in a range of colour variants, it also allows for absolute customisation by the user using their own fabric or wallpaper.
Just as the Japanese use lanterns to guide the spirits and come together to celebrate, the Ceccotti Collezioni Obon suspension lamp invites family and friends to come together to dine, spend time together and cultivate relationships. For this reason, it is ideal to place the lamp above a majestic dining table, providing brightness and a touch of design capable of catching admiring glances.
The large dimensions and mix of materials make up the Ceccotti Collezioni Obon suspension lamp, recalling the culture and tradition of Japan.
