The Ghost armchair by Fiam is the perfect synthesis of technological experimentation and formal research. Designed by Cini Boeri and Tomu Katayanagi, it represents the desire to de materialise the perception of function in favour of the user, who thus becomes the absolute protagonist of the space.
Made of 12mm curved glass, the Fiam Ghost armchair is a design seat exhibited in several museums around the globe. In this case, glass is used as a 'container' for human bodies rather than liquids, an innovative vision that seemed unattainable.
Forged by Vittorio Livi's technical and aesthetic expertise, the glass Fiam Ghost armchair was presented for the first time at the Milan Furniture Fair in 1987 and was immediately awarded a prize in a competition by 'Interni' magazine. Its designer Cini Boeri was awarded the Compasso d'oro alla Carriera in 2022.
