The Leplì collection includes stools, benches and poufs. Kensaku Oshiro designs four passe-partout pieces with a strong identity. The designer draws on traditional Poltrona Frau workmanship and decorations and combines them with sartorial suggestions from fashion. Classic stitching and soft pleats enhance the sinuous essentiality of the design.
The structure of the Leplì bench by Poltrona Frau is made of birch and poplar plywood with solid beech uprights and kraft cardboard padding. On request, a version with a container is available, equipped with side shells made of moulded rigid polyurethane, while the metal parts of the opening mechanism and the hinges are made of nickel-plated steel and zamak. The lid is made of birch plywood and the base is made of poplar plywood with a scratch-resistant black painted MDF bottom. The Leplì bench can be upholstered in Pelle Frau leather or in fabric with a decorative leather band. In the leather version, four folds start from the central button of the seat and characterise the profile of the bench, while in the fabric version the folding process is replaced by stitching.
