The Cassina Risacca screen, designed by Gaetano Pesce, is a poetic tribute to the sea: it evokes its scent, reproduces the movement of its waves and captures its visual and auditory essence. Entirely handmade and decorated in nine numbered pieces, this screen is a true work of art, capable of transforming any space into an immersive and all-encompassing experience.
Composed of three independent panels in polyurethane resin, Risacca is the result of a complex and meticulous craft process. The transparent resin is poured into wooden moulds, then decorated by hand with pigmented resins, as if it were a canvas. Using a technique reminiscent of oil painting, the colours are applied in successive layers, first with a brush and then with a spatula, as the resin thickens. Every gesture of the artist remains imprinted in the material, creating three-dimensionality and ripples reminiscent of the motion of the sea.
But the magic of Cassina's Risacca screen does not stop at the visual: thanks to a Bluetooth speaker integrated into the burnished base, the screen reproduces the sound of waves, amplifying the sensory experience and engaging the sense of hearing.
